What is the Digital Experiences Design?
Designing digital experiences requires researching context, defining different types of customer personae and identifying their needs, concerns and frustrations to extrapolate valuable insights which result in both the creation of the perfect Customer Journey and finding opportunities in the digital world.
Our objective is to teach students how to design a digital product that goes beyond the visual realm while keeping all of these things in mind.
The master’s degree is in its 8th edition and every year it attracts students from all over the world who actively participate in the creation of actual digital products by implementing what they have learned during the degree.
The designers of the future need to have a holistic vision of digital business in order to integrate with multifunctional teams comprised of professionals with vastly diverse backgrounds such as developers, business strategists, project managers and marketing directors.
For this reason, during the degree we utilize Agile techniques for digital product development in order to work within an iterative incremental methodology, as well as Design Sprint methodology from Google Ventures to face the challenges or areas for improvement that we have identified in the Customer journey while always staying focused on the vision of the business.
Nowadays a digital designer has to be capable of taking on areas like Visual Design, Interface Design, UX Design and Product Design with ease
Introducing market tendencies in an academic environment
The plan of studies is designed to train multidisciplinary designers who are perfectly familiar with the peculiarities of digital media to learn to create memorable customer experiences by transforming the user experience of the digital product itself and using it to generate desire and emotion at every contact point.
We work on everything from user research to Customer Journey creation, digital media tools and applied design in order to understand how to design a product or service and finally to achieve its implementation through Frontend development.
Understanding users and having a holistic vision are key pieces in the design of digital products. That is why we provide the necessary tools to create meaningful experiences that improve people's lives.
To ensure a holistic vision and that projects remain viable through the duration of the degree, we go into detail on business models and discuss aligning with business objectives, Customer Development, Lean and Digital Marketing through examples and real cases presented by professionals from Runroom and other pioneering companies in the digital field who provide their vision in the degree’s workshops and masterclasses.
Digital experience goes beyond visual experience. We have to incorporate technology, business, intentionality, usability, emotion...apply design by removing what is superfluous and focusing exclusively on what has value for the user.
