AI Dojo 🥋 May 8

15 years ago, at Runroom we started hosting the first coding dojos in Barcelona. For years we were the home of the monthly katas: an open space to practice, share, and learn in community through code.

Today, that spirit evolves.
AI Dojo is born as a new event and workshop format that connects our origins with the way we learn and experiment now: exploring the present - and future - of artificial intelligence.

What is an AI Dojo?

An AI Dojo is a practical meeting inspired by coding dojos.

For a few hours, we gather to explore and solve a real challenge using AI tools:

• we prototype ideas
• we build small systems (RAG, agents, workflows…)
• we iterate prompts
• we connect tools
• we share learnings, mistakes, and discoveries

It is not a class.
There are no “experts” and “students”.
It is a space for collective learning

Not just for technical profiles

AI is changing how we think, design, communicate, and make decisions.

That's why this dojo is designed for anyone with curiosity and a desire to practice:

• Product Designers
• Product Managers
• Developers
• Marketers
• Content strategists
• Research, innovation, consultancy
• People who work with knowledge and complexity

No prior experience is needed.
You just need to come with a desire to participate.

What do we do in a session?

Each session revolves around a specific challenge.

Example:

“Create an assistant that answers questions using real documentation (RAG) and a functional mini app.”

In Randori Kata format, we work on things like:

• defining the problem and context
• deciding what data we need
• creating embeddings and semantic search
• building a RAG flow
• generating responses with sources
• setting up a quick app (for example in Lovable)
• testing, failing, adjusting, and improving

The goal is not to “do it perfectly”.
The goal is to understand it together, by trying it.

This is a place to experiment.

What level do I need?

Any level.

There will be more technical people and others more focused on product, design, or communication. Diversity is part of the value.

The only essentials are: curiosity, respect, and a desire to participate.
