Agility is Key · LAB
We explore the impact of Agile on organizational culture.
After nearly two decades of direct experience, we can affirm that it is the people who make the difference and ensure the success of Agile.
More than a methodology, Agile is, in essence, a mindset. You can create the methodology that best suits your needs, based on clear values and principles shared by the organization.
For this, a paradigm shift is essential, a cultural transformation of the company at all levels. The main obstacle: resistance to change.
In the Runroom LAB Agility is Key we explore the impact of Agile on organizational culture, whether large or small, in a workshop facilitated by Ana Arias, Head of People at Runroom, and by Anna Puig Rademacher Digital Product Manager at Holaluz, where we will learn about their own experiences and experiment with some agile interaction techniques and tools.

Learnings
- Concept: Agility is a mindset based on values and principles of flexibility in the face of change and uncertainty, rather than just a simple methodology.
- Agile Manifesto: Prioritizes individuals and interactions, working software, customer collaboration, and responding to change over processes, documentation, negotiation, and rigid plans.
- Lean: Focuses on identifying customer value, mapping the value stream, creating a continuous flow by eliminating bottlenecks and waste, establishing a pull system (on-demand), and seeking continuous improvement.
- Kanban
- Origin: Developed by Toyota in the 1950s to visualize production processes and avoid overproduction.
- Key practices: Visualize work, limit WIP (Work In Progress), manage flow, make policies explicit, implement feedback cycles, and improve collaboratively.
- Philosophy: It is not a fixed process but a tool to improve the existing process, starting from the current situation. - Culture: It is emphasized that agility requires a cultural paradigm shift and empowerment of people, with face-to-face communication being a fundamental factor.
