LAB Product Development with SHAPE UP
Stop Sprinting and Start Shaping. Is there life beyond Agile, Lean, Kanban, and Scrum?
We are well aware of the profound impact of methodology and the way a team works on the outcome, on the delivered product. For this, it is crucial to choose the right framework.
Shape Up is a product development method devised by the company 37signals over more than 17 years of constant trial and error in their way of working.
Its goal is to better define and prioritize projects, address uncertainties and risks from the very beginning, and increase collaboration and commitment within the team. This method has been formalized into a framework for other companies to use, and in the summer of 2019, the book “Shape Up” written by Ryan Singer was published.
Can we consider Shape Up as a new agile framework?
How does it differ from Kanban and Scrum?
What are its key ideas, approach, and lifecycle?
We explore Shape Up with Marc Rovira Vall, a specialist in organizational and process development and responsible for continuous improvement.
